THE BUILDING

  • The site was chosen for its location in a developing country and its close proximity to both a city, which was rapidly growing, and small underdeveloped villages.

  • With development inevitable in the small villages, this unique site was selected to explore how learning could be beneficial to the local communities.

  • A rural location was essential for the prospect of a farm. When purchased, the only building on site was a small buffalo shed.

  • Construction began in January 2007. An additional piece of land was bought in 2009, which is now a working farm and where Dal Bhattar and his family live.I'm a paragraph. • Each floor and room in the building is designed to reflect the flow of learning; with two doors in every room, a person is able to walk through the entire facility without entering or exiting the same door twice, allowing them to experience this flow by continually moving forward.

  • Every room has large windows, allowing a significant amount of light into each space. The use of glass also aids the intention that both the building and the business itself should be transparent to all.

  • Each room was built to accommodate approximately 20 students.
